The successful candidate is expected to represent the history of modern and contemporary art with a distinctive methodological and theoretical profile both in research and teaching and to offer innovative impulses to the field. Collaboration with the other professors of the Institute of Art History, with neighboring disciplines, and with national and international institutions is required. The candidate will represent the field in its entire range and on an international level and contribute to the development of the Institute’s academic profile.
Candidates are expected to have a habilitation or equivalent qualifications (second book manuscript and/or assistant professorship). Candidates who do not speak German are expected to acquire a working knowledge of German within the first two years of appointment. In order to increase the number of women in leading academic positions, we specifically encourage women to apply. The position should be filled as soon as possible.
